Panda Wool Sock Yarn - preview

We are ever so excited about our two new sock yarns for Spring 2007 (although they will arrive in December - so you don't have to wait for Spring!)

Both yarns are bamboo blends - one with wool and the other with cotton:
Panda Wool and Panda Cotton.

Panda Cotton will also have some elastic fiber to help the socks hold their shape and not become slouch socks!

As with all CPY yarns there will be a wide range of printed and solid colors which will coordinate. Panda Wool has 20 colors and Panda Cotton will have 29!

Check our CPY Web site's What's New page for more information and more photos and projects.

Just wondering if they will be a superwash product?

Is there anyway to find any Crystal Palace Baby Georgia or anyone that has some left? OR what would be the best Crystal Palace equivalent to that now? Have any of the new yarns replaced it? Looking for a CP washable cotton fingering with 26-28=4". Any and all suggestions will be so helpful.AC

re. Baby Georgia

Baby Georgia was discontinued quite awhile ago (2-3 years) so there is a scattering of it left in various shops, but not much.

We are just adding a new 7 sts/in bamboo-cotton yarn, Panda Cotton, which will arrive later this year or in January 2007 (it's a sock-yarn-baby-yarn). There is a preview of it on our web site at www.straw.com (click on What's New link)

re. superwash
Panda Wool is not superwash wool, but we did test a sample knit at 7-7.5 sts/inch and washed it with other items on gentle with cool water (NO dryer) and it came out just fine.
